Training and Development Specialist – (new position) Full time- Overseeing a program of staff development and training to ensure employees have the skills and knowledge.  Commitment to providing a diverse, inclusive, equitable environment, which fosters a feeling of belonging in both the individuals supported and those employed by the agency.  Duties: establish an annual agency training and development plan that aligns with the strategic direction of the organization; develop and maintain a curriculum for all required training, utilizing Relias Learning Management System as well as in-person sessions; obtain/maintain certification First Aid/CPR Instructor and NYS OMH TRUST Instructor.  Manage user access and problem solve issues on AWARDS electronic health record.  Min Qual: BA in human services discipline or education and one year experience in training/education/supervision, OR Associate degree in human services discipline or education and three years’ experience in training/education/supervision.  Microsoft 365 applications and video conferencing software.  Deliver training in different environments, utilizing both in-person and virtually.  Excellent oral and written communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.  Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to determine the needs and experience of an audience.  Experience working with individuals experiencing severe mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, preferred.  $63,000-65,000/annual equivalent.  Monday-Friday, day time hours with some flexibility for evening trainings.

Program Director/Manager-1574 HouseWe are seeking energetic, organized candidates to oversee the operation of group homes in Schenectady, serving adults who have a psychiatric diagnosis. We value quality service to our clients and a supportive work environment.  Duties include: all aspects of client services including evaluation of client referrals, client admission, communication and collaboration with service providers and family members, oversee service provision that are client centered and have a focus on transition. In addition: administration of Medicaid billable services, regulatory compliance, oversees maintenance of facility, and program budget.  Supervision of all staff members including staff training and development, on-call administrative duties to assist staff members.  Participation in agency supervisory team which influences the activities of the agency.  Minimum qualification: bachelor’s degree in human services required, 2+ years’ experience working with the mentally ill and 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity also required.  Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. NYS Driver’s license required.   Schedule- Monday-Friday with daytime hours, shared on-call. Salary is $2,423.08 biweekly: 63,000.08/annual equivalent.

Overnight Counselors Shift Supervisor – Full Time – working in the community residence/group homes setting providing supervision, training, guidance to the program staff during the overnight shifts. Complete periodic checks on Overnight Counselors and ensure Overnight Counselors are performing all assigned tasks including medication counts and ensure the group home is maintained and a clean environment for our clients. Provide support and guidance to Overnight Counselors by regularly communicating with them and respond to their calls. Provide overnight shift coverage as needed when there are call-ins and/or vacancies that cannot be filled by finding coverage from the list of employees available or doing the shift yourself. Regularly communication with Program Directors.  Know and follow agency program procedures and policies and provide guidance to all staff regarding these policies and procedures.  Min qual include: An acceptable combination of relevant education and exp including a bachelor’s degree and one year’s exp, associate degree and 3 years’ exp, or a high school diploma and 5 years’ exp., mental health exp preferred, must have a valid and insurable driver’s license; supervisor exp also preferred. 40 hours per week. Salary is $24.30/hour, $50,544.00/annual equivalent. Overtime is available; $36.45.

Overnight Residence Counselor – Full Time Provide supportive counseling to adults with a psychiatric diagnosis living in a group home setting.  Duties include teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention and prevention, and maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our clients to become independent.  After completion of specific tasks, the employee can rest while still being available for clients if they needed something.  Qualifications include college classes in human services, demonstrated ability in helping others, valid and insurable driver’s license. $20.50/hour; $42,640.00/annual equivalent. Overtime is available in our group home setting, $30.75/overtime pay rate.

Assistant Program Director at 1574 House- Full Time – 1574 Union St. Residence is a group home serving clients with a mental illness located in Schenectady, NY.  Duties include assisting the Program Director with the oversight of the daily operations of the group home, client services including teaching of daily living skills that is client-centered, staff supervision, and overseeing a safe, healthy, and clean environment for our clients.  Qualification include BA/BS in human services and 1-year experience in human services, Associates degree in human services with 3 years’ experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and education. In addition, experience working with the mentally ill population and residential experience required. Supervisor experience preferred. Valid and insurable driver’s license required.  $24.30/hour: $50,544.00/annual equivalent. Overtime is available; $36.45/overtime rate. 40 hours per week.

Housing Case Manager – Full Time: – Provide case management services; securing safe and affordable housing; teaching the necessary skills to maintain stable housing; developing linkages to community services; and develop support plans for adults who have a diagnosis of mental illness, and mentally ill adults who need intensive support and engagement in services, (MRT) and HIV/AIDs, and/or unhoused.  College degree in human services and/or equivalent experience in the human service field especially in the populations diagnosed with mentally illness, substance abuse, and/or chronic homelessness.  In addition, case management experience and a valid and insurable driver’s license are required. 40 hours per week.  $21.87/hour.  $45,489.60/ annual equivalent. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30.  No after hours on-call.  Overtime is available in our group home setting, $32.81/her hour for overtime pay. 

Service Coordinator Full-Time: – Providing supportive counseling to adults who have a psychiatric diagnosis and who live in independent apartments in the Schenectady community.  Duties include teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention and prevention, and maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our clients to become independent.  Qualifications include college classes in human services, BA preferred; 6 months-1year experience in human services preferred; valid and insurable driver’s license. 40 hours per week; $21.70/hour; $45,136.00/annual equivalent. On-Call for client emergencies on a rotating bases (approximately once every 10 weeks) for 1 week; $150 bonus for on-call.  Schedule-Monday-Friday, daytime hours.

Relief Counselor/Respite – Per Diem Mohawk Opportunities, a small private, nonprofit located in Schenectady is seeking per diem (substitute) Relief Counselors to work in our four group homes. We serve adults who have a mental illness and are working on goals to transition to an independent setting. The clients we work with are very high functioning and are in the community independently. We DO NOT provide personal care and we DO NOT do physical restraints. All the services to our clients are verbal supportive counseling and teaching of daily living skills. You must be available for all shifts. Driver’s license is not required but preferred. Regular rate $20.50/hour and overtime rate is $30.75. We provide training and a supportive work environment. Flexible hours. You sign up for available shifts.  Must be able to work some evening, weekend, and overnight shifts. Must work one 8-hour shift each month.
