Psychiatric Registered Nurse – ACT Team – Full Time:  The Assertive Community Team (ACT) Psychiatric Nurse is a clinical staff member of the ACT community based multidisciplinary treatment team. Duties include: administration of injectable medications, managing Clozaril protocols, ordering of medication, overseeing processes for medication distribution, and utilizing a medication step system towards client self-management.  Assessing physical health needs, making appropriate referrals to community physicians, and
collaborating with medical providers and pharmacies.  Provide a full range of services that are culturally relevant, and recovery based. These services may occur in the home, community or office.  Service provision is designed to promote recovery by improving psychiatric symptoms, preventing relapse, teaching skills, and providing direct assistance and securing necessary community resources.  Conduct person centered comprehensive health assessments, including but not limited to, personal and family medical and
psychiatric histories, current medical needs, substance use history, and daily living skills with the purpose of linkage to and collaboration with providers in order to improve health outcomes.  Conduct BMI and AIMS assessments as recommended.  Use strength based methodologies, continually instill hope, develop and maintain trusting and supportive relationships with clients, families, other providers and the community.  This is a community-based position which includes meeting with clients in their homes, community, in addition to providing transportation to appointments.  Min qualifications include: Licensed Registered professional Nurse by NYS. Three years’ exp. in a psychiatric setting, preferred. A valid and insurable driver’s license. $80,537/annual equivalent, Monday-Friday, daytime hours.  Rotating on-call with a stipend of $210/week of on-call.  The COVID-19 vaccine and boosters are required or properly approved exemption consistent with applicable laws. 

 

Life Skills Counselor- Full Time The Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment Services (CORE) Recovery Counselor is responsible for providing support, skill building, and education to individuals who have a diagnosis of mental illness and their family members. Services are person-centered community based, and occur in settings where individuals live, work, learn and socialize. Services may be offered individually or in groups. Duties include: provide home-based or community-based therapeutic interventions using a trauma-informed care and harm-reduction; engage individuals in a person-centered Intake & Evaluation process; assist in identifying specific behavioral health barriers that impact daily living; partner in the development and implementation of strengths-based services; and act as a Representative Payee to help clients and former clients of Mohawk Opportunities’ programs manage their finances, pay their bills, and develop the skills needed to gradually assume responsibility for these tasks on their own.  Min qual: Associate’s degree in human service required; Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred, one year of experience working in a behavioral health setting, a valid and insurable NYS driver’s license. The COVID-19 vaccine and boosters are required or properly approved exemption consistent with applicable laws.  Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, $20.26/hour.  $42,140.80/ annual equivalent.

 

Residence Counselors–Full Time – Emmanuel House and 1574 Union St. –Provide supportive counseling to adults with a psychiatric diagnosis living in a group home setting.  Duties include teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention and prevention, and maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our clients to become independent.  Qualifications include college classes in human services, BA preferred; demonstrated ability in helping others, valid and insurable driver’s license. $19.03/hour; $39,582.40/annual equivalent. Overtime is available in our group home setting. The COVID-19 vaccine is required or properly approved exemption consistent with applicable laws.

Receptionist Per DiemWe are seeking a professional Receptionist Per Diem for a small non-profit located in Schenectady, NY.  The responsibilities of the Receptionist Per Diem include greeting, announcing, and directing visitors and callers; problem solving with clients to connect them with the appropriate staff member; and representing the agency in a professional manner.  In addition, notify program staff members if a client needs immediate assistance.   Handling confidential information, both written and verbally, is essential. Coordinate and communicate information to and from staff members to assist in the daily operations. In addition, operation of office equipment, i.e. postal machine, fax machine, copier, etc. along with basic Word Processing and data entry are also a required.  Qualifications include: A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered including two years’ experience in an office setting; preferably in a medical office.  Human service experience preferred.  Candidates must have the ability to be organized, multi-task, be detail-oriented, and have strong communications skills, both oral and written.  Must be available Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm as needed.  $19.03/Hour.  The COVID-19 vaccine and boosters are required or properly approved exemption consistent with applicable laws.
