Community Mental Health Clinician – Social Worker -We are seeking a Social Worker to be a clinical staff member of the ACT community based multidisciplinary treatment team. Services provision is designed to promote recovery by improving psychiatric symptoms, preventing relapse, teaching skills, providing direct assistance, and securing necessary community resources. Duties include: function as the lead for vocational and educational services; offer assistance in all phases of educational and vocational development programming including vocational assessment, job exploration, and skills development as they seek to enroll in an educational/vocational program and/or obtain and maintain employment. Use strength-based methodologies, continually instill hope, develop and maintain trusting and supportive relationships with clients, families, other providers and the community. This is a community-based position which includes meeting with clients in their homes as well as provide on-call crisis intervention services on a rotation with other team members. Minimum qualifications include: Master’s Degree in Social Work with licensure, hold a license as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State, Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Certification from The Commission on Rehabilitation Counseling. Three years of experience working in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting preferred. A valid and insurable NYS driver’s license is also required. Monday through Friday, daytime hours with rotating on-call when the office is closed. There is a $150 weekly stipend for the rotating on-call. Case Manager- Housing Coordinator Full Time: – Provide case management services; securing safe and affordable housing; teaching the necessary skills to maintain stable housing; developing linkages to community services; and develop support plans for adults who have a diagnosis of HIV/AIDs, mental illness, and mentally ill adults who need intensive support and engagement in services, (MRT). College degree in human services and/or equivalent experience in the human service field especially in the populations diagnosed with HIV/AIDs, mentally illness, substance abuse, and/or chronic homelessness. In addition, case management experience and a valid and insurable driver’s license are required. 40 hours per week. $15.68/hour. $32,641/ annual equivalent. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30. No after hours on-call. Overtime is available in our group home setting, $23.52/overtime pay rate.
Dominion House Residence Counselor- Providing supportive counseling to adults who have a psychiatric diagnosis and who live in a short-term stabilization program (group home). Duties include teaching of daily living skills including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention and prevention, and maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our clients to become independent. Qualifications include college classes in human services, BA preferred; 6 months-1year experience in human services preferred; valid and insurable driver’s license. 40 hours per week; $14.90/hour; $30,992.00/annual equivalent. Overtime is available; $22.35/overtime pay rate.

Overtime is available in our group home setting, $21.42/overtime pay rate.

Mohawk Opportunities, a small private, nonprofit located in Schenectady is seeking per diem (substitute) Relief Counselors to work in our 4 group homes. We serve adults who have a mental illness and are working on goals to transition to an independent setting. The clients we work with are very high functioning and are in the community independently. We DO NOT provide personal care and we DO NOT do physical restraints. All the services to our clients are verbal supportive counseling and teaching of daily living skills. We provide personal protective equipment and follow all CDC guidelines. You must be available for all shifts. Driver’s license is not required but preferred. Counselors must be willing to work in the group home if there is a COVID exposure. Regular rate $14.28/hour and the rate will increase to time and a half, $19.62/hour if there is a COVID exposure. We provide training and a supportive work environment.
